Music4VIP (Music for visually impaired people) is a European project, started on 1st November 2012.

The main goal of "Music4VIP" is to make music much more easily accessible to blind people. As a result of this project:

  • Music Braille, the only precise form of musical notation for blind people, will be much easier to read and write
  • vastly more music will become available in Music Braille

The project is developing learning resources that will promote the wider adoption of Music Braille and facilitate its use for blind pupils within mainstream schools and universities. Blind students will be able to study music alongside their sighted peers on equal terms.

This European project brings together groups working in different countries - Italy, France, Poland and the UK - in order that its work may benefit blind people across the EU and beyond.
